What you'll need
The blue and red hearts, I crocheted with cotton thread size 10 and crochet hook size 2 mm and they came out about 5,5 by 5,5 cm (2,16 by 2,16 inches). You can use heavier thread and bigger hook, or thinner thread and smaller hook and you will have a bigger or smaller motif. The silver and variegated I made with metallic thread. For the earrings, I worked with two strands of the same silver metallic thread together.
You will also need a needle to weave in loose ends and a pair of scissors.
I slightly stiffened the hearts brushing pva glue diluted with water on the wrong side of the heart.
Make a magic ring.
- Round 1: Ch 5 (counts as first dc and ch 2), (dc, ch 2) 5 times in the ring, pull the thread end to tighten the ring and join with sl st in 3rd ch of ch5.
- Round 2: Ch 2, hdc in next ch2 sp, (ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 2, dc in next ch2 sp) twice, ch 2, tr in next dc (center bottom of heart), (ch 2, dc in next ch2 sp, ch 2, dc in next dc) twice, ch 2, hdc in next ch2 sp, ch 2, join with sl st in same st as beginning ch2 at center top of heart.
- Round 3: Ch 3, dc in hdc, ch 2, tr in next ch2 sp, ch 2, tr in next dc, ch 2 tr in next ch2 sp, ch 2, dc in next dc, (ch 2, dc in next ch2 sp) 3 times, ch 2, tr in next tr (center bottom of heart), (ch 2, dc in next ch2 sp) 3 times, ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 2, tr in next ch2 sp, ch 2, tr in next dc, ch 2, tr in next ch2 sp, ch 2, dc in next hdc, ch 3, join with sl st in same st as beginning ch3.
- Round 4: 3 sc in ch3 sp, [in next ch2 sp work (sc, ch 3, sc)] 8 times, in tr work (sc, ch 3, sc), [in next ch2 sp work (sc, ch3, sc)] 8 times, 3 sc in ch3 sp, join with sl st in first sc.
